By boat from Bangor or Donaghadee Harbour. The wreck lies approx. 1.5km due north of Lighthouse Island (Copeland Islands)
Free car parking is available above Bangor Marina and public toilets are available at South Pier. The slipway to the north of the car park is primarily a means of launching Bangor’s Atlantic 85 lifeboat and use is restricted to season ticket holders and Bangor Marina and harbour users. Donaghadee Harbour has a slipway and free car parking off Warren Road, north of the harbour. Free car parking is also available along Parade, adjacent to the main harbour wall. Public toilets are available at 4a Parade.
Nearest tank filling is DV Diving, Mount Stewart, Newtownards.

Wreckage on barren sediment. Fishing lines tangled round it
Date of loss 20/01/1942. This Dutch motor vessel, built in 1939 and owned by W. Veld, Groningen, was in collision with a British tanker, the British Engineer. Its voyage was from Liverpool to Belfast carrying foodstuffs. Two crew members were lost. (Sources: AWD; WA E92).
